The Holy Cross football team has announced its 11-game schedule for the 2022 season. The slate is set to get underway on Sept. 3, and features five home games and six road games.
The season opens with back-to-back road tests: A game at Merrimack on Sept. 3, and a battle with an FBS foe, Buffalo, on Sept. 10.
Holy Cross' home opener will take place on Sept. 17, with a matchup scheduled against Yale at Fitton Field.
The Crusaders hit the road the next two weekends, opening Patriot League play at Colgate on Sept. 24 before heading to Harvard for a nonconference tilt on Oct. 1.
Holy Cross will host Bucknell on Oct. 8. Following a bye weekend, the Crusaders head to Lafayette on Oct. 22.
The Crusaders then enjoy three consecutive home contests, with games against Fordham (Oct. 29), Lehigh (Nov. 5) and Bryant (Nov. 12) all set to be played at Fitton Field.
The 2022 regular season will round out on Nov. 19 with a conference contest at Georgetown.
Holy Cross enters the 2022 season as the three-time defending Patriot League Champions. Last season, the Crusaders finished with a 10-3 record overall and a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play. Holy Cross won its first FCS playoff game in program history with a home playoff victory over Sacred Heart, and finished the year ranked 19th in the nation by StatsPerform. The Crusaders also defeated a football bowl subdivision opponent for the first time since 2002 with a season-opening victory over Connecticut. The Crusaders return 16 All-Patriot League honorees from 2021.
