BROOKLINE, Mass. — The Holy Cross baseball team fell in both ends of a doubleheader at Northeastern on Friday, March 18 at Friedman Diamond.
GAME ONE
Northeastern 3, Holy Cross 1

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- A single up the middle in the bottom of the first gave the Huskies a 1-0 lead early; from there, Holy Cross junior starting pitcher Jack DiLauro held Northeastern scoreless until the sixth.
- The Huskies took a 3-0 lead in the sixth inning, with a single to right scoring a run and a double to center tacking on another.
- Senior first baseman Nate Wolf led off the seventh with a solo home run, cutting into the Northeastern advantage.
- The Crusaders put on a pair of runners in the top of the eighth after sophomore second baseman Sam Kirkpatrick doubled with one out and freshman third baseman Nick Wang drew a walk. After a groundout to move the runners to second and third, a sharp lineout ended the Holy Cross threat.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Holy Cross sophomore starting pitcher Matt Remley and Northeastern starter Sebastian Keane dueled early, with each team being held scoreless until the Huskies broke through in the bottom of the sixth.
- A pair of RBI singles put the Huskies up 2-0 by the end of the sixth inning.
- Northeastern built an even greater lead with a five-run seventh. Two runs scored on a wild pitch followed by an error, and a ground-rule double scored another. After a wild pitch and an RBI triple added on two more runs, the Huskies' advantage grew to 7-0 through seven innings.
- Right fielder Jeff Costello tripled to give the Huskies two more runs in the eighth, and the Huskies made it a 10-0 game with a one-out RBI single.
