HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Cole Posey hit a leadoff triple in second, and later scored on a 4-3 groundout to make it a 5-0 game.
- An error extended the bottom of the third inning for New Mexico, and a three-run homer with two out made it an 8-0 edge for the Lobos.
- The Crusaders got on the board in the top of the fifth. Sophomore shortstop Sam Kirkpatrick hit a leadoff single, and freshman third baseman Nick Wang hit a double to right-center to score Kirkpatrick. Wang then advanced to third on a groundout and scored after a lineout, bringing Holy Cross within 8-2.
- New Mexico got a run back in the bottom of the fifth, and an RBI double in the sixth extended its lead to 10-2.
- Wang hit a two-out double in the top of the seventh, and senior first baseman Nate Wolf brought him home with a double to right-center.
- A two-run homer brought the score to 12-3 in favor of the Lobos, and an RBI triple in the bottom of the eighth made it 13-3.
