The Holy Cross men's basketball team will play its second straight home game when it faces Boston University on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 7:00 p.m. The contest between the Crusaders and the Terriers will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+.
Holy Cross has won five out of its last seven games, but is coming off a 60-54 setback against American on Monday night. The Crusaders own a 6-7 record in Patriot League play and stand 8-17 overall. Holy Cross currently leads the conference in blocked shots (3.8 blocks per game), while ranking fourth in free throw percentage (70.6 percent) and turnover margin (+0.1 turnovers per game).
Senior forward
Gerrale Gates has led the team by averaging 15.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, while hitting 72.2 percent of his foul shots. Freshman guard
Kyrell Luc has also been playing well, with averages of 13.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.6 steals per contest. In addition, sophomore guard
Bo Montgomery has averaged 8.4 points and 2.5 boards per game.
Boston University currently has an overall record of 18-9 on the season, including a 9-5 mark in the Patriot League. The Terriers have won three straight and seven of their last eight games, with the only loss during that time coming against Holy Cross (75-70 on Jan. 31). Senior guard Javante McCoy has led the team by averaging 16.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game, while hitting 44.4 percent of his three-point attempts. Senior forward Sukhmail Mathon has put up 14.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per contest, with senior forward Walter Whyte contributing 13.2 points and 5.9 boards per game.Â
After the contest with Boston University, Holy Cross will travel to Navy for a 12:00 p.m. game on Saturday, Feb. 19.
