Field Hockey falls to Lafayette

Worcester, Mass. – The Holy Cross field hockey team fell to Lafayette 1-0 on Saturday, Oct. 29 for their final Patriot League contest of the season.

The loss sends the Crusaders 6-10 overall and finalizes their Patriot League record at 2-4. The Leopards improve to 7-11 (3-3 Patriot League).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The first half remained scoreless as both teams played strong defense. The Leopards led in shots 6-2 after 30 minutes.
  • Lafayette managed the game-winning goal at 30:51. 
  • The Crusader defense contained the Leopards for the remainder of the game, but were unable to find the equalizing goal. 
OUTSIDE THE BOX:
  • The Leopards outshot the Crusaders 17-3.
  • Corner kicks were 9-2 in favor of Lafayette.
  • Brooke Ross tallied five saves on the day.
UP NEXT:
  • The Crusaders will host Towson for their final game of the season on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 12 p.m. at the Hart Turf Field. Sunday's game will be senior day for Holy Cross. They will honor their six seniors in a special pregame ceremony.
