The Holy Cross women's soccer team returns home on Wednesday, Oct. 26 for their final regular season match against Patriot League opponent Colgate at 7 p.m. The Crusaders are coming off a road victory against Navy on Saturday. 
 
Wednesday's matchup will serve as the women's soccer Cousy Cup game, a year-long competition among all teams at Holy Cross. The scoring of the Cousy Cup will be based on the following categories: team GPA, community service hours, competitive outcomes, and attendance at select home athletic events.
 
This game is pivotal to determining the playoff future for Holy Cross. The team needs a victory against Colgate in addition to a loss/tie from Navy (vs. Lafayette) to clinch the No. 6 seed. 

Things to Know About the Crusaders (2-10-4, 2-5-1 Patriot League):
• Holy Cross stands 2-10-4 overall and 2-5-1 in the Patriot League this year. In recent weeks, the Crusaders defeated Lafayette (1-0) for senior day followed by a road victory at Navy (2-0) on Saturday.
•  The victory in Annapolis marked the first win against the Midshipmen for the Crusaders since Navy joined the Patriot League in 1994.
•  Senior forward Katie Quinn scored the game-winning goal against the Mids, her first goal of the season. She was assisted by senior forward Claire Carew, her second in two games. Quinn received recognition as Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week.
•  Carew alongside sophomore Ashley Blaka and junior Ellie Zern lead the team in assists with two apiece.  
•  Senior forward/midfielder Melanie Lytle leads the team in points (4) beside Blaka. Lytle also leads the team in goals with two. 
•  Sophomore goaltender Olivia Dubin has played the majority of the 2022 schedule. She had her third shutout of the season against Navy and earned Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week. Dubin has tallied 58 saves on the year with a save percentage of .773 and a goals-against average of 1.36.

Scouting the Raiders (2-10-4, 2-4-2 Patriot League):
• Navy enters the game with an overall mark of 2-10-4 and 2-4-2 record in the Patriot League. The Raiders are coming off a 1-1 draw against Lafayette on Saturday.
• Junior forward Aly Giovino leads the Raiders in points (6) and goals (3).
• Freshman forward Ellie Stokes leads the team in assists with two.
• Senior goalie Grace Poncsak and junior Emma Hickey have split time in net for Colgate. Poncsak has managed three shutouts in twelve games. She has 41 saves on the year with a save percentage of .732 and goals-against average of 1.43. Hickey has played seven games for the Raiders recording 14 saves, a save percentage of 1.09, and .700 goals-against average.

Series History:
• The Raiders hold a 30-8-4 lead in the all-time series between the schools, which began in 1984. Over the last five games, Colgate owns a narrow 3-1-2 advantage.
• In the last meeting, the Crusaders suffered a 3-1 loss in Hamilton on Oct.27, 2021. Katie Quinn scored the Crusaders' only goal. Olivia Dubin posted six saves.
