WORCESTER, Mass. – Three Holy Cross women's soccer players have received a Patriot League weekly award for competition from Oct. 17 – Oct. 23.
Senior
Katie Quinn won Offensive Player of the Week, junior
Cerys Balmer was awarded Midfielder of the Week, and sophomore
Olivia Dubin earned Goalkeeper of the Week for their performances in the Crusaders' first program win against Navy.
Quinn scored the game winner in the 14 minute of the first half, her first goal of the season. She was assisted by senior
Claire Carew. Quinn has appeared in 54 contests and tallied 20 points during her career on the Hill.
Balmer added the insurance goal late in the match at 81:39 to put the Crusaders up 2-0. This marked her first goal of the season and first career points at Holy Cross. Balmer has started in all 15 games this season with 2,426 minutes on the field.
Dubin earned her third shutout of the season against the Midshipmen. She had six saves, including four in the second half. This season, she has made 58 saves with a goals-against average of 1.76. Dubin has appeared in 30 matches in two seasons for the Crusaders.
Holy Cross women's soccer (2-10-4, 2-5-1 Patriot League) returns to action Wednesday, Oct. 26 when they return home for their final regular season match against Colgate at 7 p.m.
