Bethlehem, Pa. – The Holy Cross field hockey team fell to the Lehigh Mountain Hawks 3-0 on Saturday, Oct. 22.

The loss sends the Crusaders 6-9 overall and 2-3 in Patriot League play. The Mountain Hawks improve to 10-6 (3-2 Patriot League).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Lehigh opened scoring 11 minutes into the game with a goal from Sarah Bonthuis.
• The Mountain Hawks extended the lead in the second quarter with a goal from Lotte Smorenburg.
• The Crusader defense kept Lehigh scoreless in the third quarter, but the Mountain Hawks added one more goal in fourth quarter. 

OUTSIDE THE BOX:

• The Mountain Hawks outshot the Crusaders 18-5.
• Brooke Ross tallied eight saves on the day, her third highest total of the season. 
• Lehigh received seven corner attempts compared to Holy Cross's four.

UP NEXT:

• The Crusaders will host Patriot League opponent Lafayette on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. at the Hart Turf Field.
