Men's hockey drops to Sacred Heart

WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team fell to conference opponent Sacred Heart on Friday, Oct. 14 at the Hart Center Rink. The Pioneers emerged with the 5-1 victory after downing the Crusaders 3-2 the previous night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • After an uneventful and scoreless first period, SHU's Daniel Ebrahim scored the first goal of the game 5:43 into the second period.
  • Blake Humphrey contributed Sacred Heart's second goal at 14:50 of the second.
  • Braeden Tuck wrapped up the second period with a goal at 18:05, bringing the total to 3-0 in favor of the Pioneers.
  • Sacred Heart's John Jarowski joined in on the action, scoring at 7:26 of the third.
  • Senior forward and captain Grayson Constable notched the lone goal of the night for the Crusaders at 14:58 of the third from freshman forward Devin Phillips.
  • Todd Goehring scored the final goal of the night at 16:34 of the third period for the final score of 5-1.
BEYOND THE BOX:
  • In total, 15 penalties were called between the two teams, and no power-play goals were scored.
  • Constable's goal marked his first of the season.
  • Holy Cross held the slight edge in faceoff wins, 27-25.
  • Freshman goaltender Louden Hogg made 32 saves on the night.
UP NEXT:
  • The Crusaders will travel to Springfield, Mass. to face American International College for a Tuesday evening tilt on Oct. 18. at 7:00 p.m. at the Mass Mutual Center.
