The Holy Cross men's basketball team hits the road this week for a game at American on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 7:00 p.m. The contest between the Crusaders and the Eagles will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+.

Holy Cross enters the game with an overall record of 3-14 and an 1-4 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders are coming off a 68-65 setback against Bucknell on Saturday, after having their previous three games postponed due to COVID protocols. The Crusaders currently rank third in the Patriot League in blocked shots (3.9 blocks per game) and three-point field goal percentage (34.8 percent), while standing fourth in steals (6.8 steals per game).

Senior forward Gerrale Gates has led the team by averaging 15.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, while hitting 75.8 percent of his foul shots. Freshman guard Kyrell Luc has also been playing well, with averages of 11.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.6 steals per contest. In addition, sophomore guard Judson Martindale has averaged 10.4 points and 4.2 boards per game.

American currently has an overall record of 5-13 on the season, including a 1-5 mark in the Patriot League. The Eagles have lost six of their last seven games and are coming off a 69-56 setback against Lafayette on Monday night. Senior guard Stacy Beckton has led the team by averaging 12.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game, while hitting 72.7 percent of his free throws. Sophomore guard Colin Smalls has added 9.9 points and 2.6 boards per contest, with sophomore forward Matt Rogers chipping in 9.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.

After the game with American, Holy Cross will return home to face Lehigh on Saturday, Jan. 29, at 2:00 p.m.
