WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior midfielder Jack Ostrosky scored the only goal of the night to lead the Holy Cross men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over UMass Lowell at Linda Johnson Smith Stadium. The Crusaders improve to 3-0-1 on the season with the win, while the River Hawks fall to 1-2-1 overall.

In the 21st minute, junior defender Taj Salawu played the ball from the center of the field to freshman defender Connor Bagdon in the right side of the penalty box. Bagdon then crossed the ball into the center of the box, where Ostrosky headed it into the lower left corner of the net for a goal from eight yards out.

Junior goalkeeper Jimmy Joyce led a strong defensive effort with four saves while posting his second straight shutout.

The River Hawks outshot the Crusaders 17-4 on the night, in addition to holding a 9-2 edge in corner kicks.
