ANNAPOLIS, Md.— Angelo D'Acunto homered in back-to-back games as the Holy Cross baseball team split a doubleheader at Navy. Holy Cross earned a 9-3, victory in Game 2 at Max Bishop Stadium.
The Crusaders bounced back in Game 2 after a wild, 14-13, loss in Game 1.
GAME ONE:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Navy got on the board in the first inning, and Holy Cross responded in the second with a solo bomb from D'Acunto and three total runs, to take a 3-1 lead.
- Navy erupted for four runs in the third and fourth to take a 9-3 lead.
- The Crusaders responded with two huge offensive innings of their own, putting up five runs in the fifth and sixth to take their own 13-10 lead headed into the bottom of the sixth.
- Navy scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead back, 14-13. Despite senior right fielder Peter Dudunakis reaching second in the top of the seventh, the Crusaders were unable to bring home the game-tying run.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior right-hander Garret Keough earned his second win of the season, striking out five Midshipmen over 6.0 innings and allowing just two runs. Sophomore right-hander Nate Chudy earned his first save of the season in two innings of relief.
- After D'Acunto homered in the top of the second, Navy responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning to jump out to a 2-1 lead.
- The Crusaders responded with seven runs over the next two innings to take an 8-2 lead.
- Each team closed out the game with a run apiece in the eighth inning to finish the final score at 9-3.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- D'Acunto hit his first two career home runs against Navy.
- Holy Cross posted multiple home runs in Game 1 and Game 2, marking the first time the Crusaders have posted multiple home runs since Feb. 15, 2020 in a game at South Carolina.
- Keough now has 19 strikeouts on the season, third most on the team.
