Men’s lacrosse topped by No. 7/8 Army

WEST POINT, N.Y.— The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell, 13-3, to the No. 7/8 Army Black Knights on Saturday, March 27.

Junior goalie A.J. Fox had another solid performance between the pipes for Holy Cross (1-4, 0-3 Patriot League), posting 16 saves. Junior Chris Conlin had three caused turnovers, while junior Kilian Morrissey had three ground balls.

Sophomore Jayce Lambert posted two goals for the Crusaders. Sophomore Thomas McIntire scored his first goal as a Crusader to wrap up the scoring.

Brendan Richtern led Army (4-1, 2-0 Patriot League) with six points off one goal and five assists. Wyatt Schupler made nine saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Jayce Lambert scored the first goal of the game for the Crusaders, but Army posted six goals in the opening quarter to take a 6-1 lead. The Black Knights then used a four-goal second quarter to take a 10-1 lead into the half.
  • The Crusaders held Army to just one goal in the third quarter and tied the Black Knights' output in the final stanza, with each team posting two goals. Army ended the game with a 13-3 victory.
BEYOND THE BOX:
  • Chris Conlin had three caused turnovers and kept his streak alive of posting at least one in every collegiate game he has played in.
  • Thomas McIntire is the seventh Crusader to post his first career goal this season.
UP NEXT:
  • Holy Cross will host Lafayette on Sunday, April 4 at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
