HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Holy Cross field hockey team lost to Colgate 1-0 Sunday afternoon in New York.
The Raiders got on the board early and while the Crusaders were able to keep them from adding to their lead, they weren't able to get the game-tying goal either.
In just the third minute Meghan Minturn put Colgate up with assists from Ella Murphy and Campbell Matheis. That would be all the Raiders needed.
Holy Cross outshot Colgate in the first half 12-4, including a 7-0 second quarter, but just weren't able to find the back of the net. The Crusaders also out earned the Raiders 11-5 on the day in penalty corners.
Emma Skumurski made eight saves in goal for Holy Cross and
Sinead Walsh and
Kristen Weber each had a team-high three shots on goal.

The Crusaders will return home next Sunday, March 21 for a 2 p.m. matchup with Lafayette.
