Holy Cross men’s basketball to miss Patriot League Tournament, concludes season due to COVID-19

Due to a positive COVID-19 test within the Tier 1 group, the Holy Cross men's basketball program will pause all team activities, including participation in the 2021 Patriot League Basketball Tournament.

The Crusaders were scheduled to be the tournament's eight-seed and host a Patriot League first-round game on Wednesday. The team will not return to action this season.

"With this unfortunate news, we are disappointed that our season has been cut short," said head coach Brett Nelson. "I am extremely proud of and grateful for our players, staff and everyone associated with our program. Our team has grown tremendously this season in many ways. The future of Holy Cross basketball is very bright, and we have laid a great foundation moving forward."

The Tier 1 designation consists of individuals for whom physical distancing and/or face coverings are not possible or effective during athletic training or competition, including student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers and physical therapists, medical staff, equipment staff and officials.
