Men's hockey falls at Sacred Heart

BRIDGEPORT, Conn.— The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team fell 5-3 to Sacred Heart in a back-and-forth, high-scoring affair on Saturday, Feb. 20.

With the score tied at 3-3 late in the third, the Pioneers got the game-winner with 5:26 to go in regulation, and added an empty-netter for insurance in the final minute. Jake Pappalardo had a multi-point outing, recording a goal and an assist. Bobby Young and Michael Kane each tallied a goal for the Crusaders. Sophomore goaltender Matt Radomsky made 29 saves; freshman defenseman Jack Robilotti had four blocked shots.

SCORING SUMMARY:
1-0 HC (1st, 3:03, EV): After being originally credited to Mike Higgins, Pappalardo got the scoring started with a tap in out front.
1-1 SHU (1st, 10:16, EV): A turnover behind the net, opened the scoring for Sacred Heart, with Marcel Godbout getting in on the scoring action.
2-1 SHU (1st, 16:46, EV): Kevin Lombardi gave Sacred Heart a brief lead off his lone goal of the evening.
2-2 HC (1st, 17:12, EV): Kane evened the score with an unassisted snipe.
3-2 SHU (2nd, 5:08, PP): Marc Johnstone put the Pioneers back in the lead on a power-play goal.
3-3 HC (2nd 15:13, EV): Young tied things up again off a nice feed from Grayson Constable.
4-3 SHU (3rd, 14:34, EV): Nick Boyagian tapped in the game-winning goal.
5-3 SHU (3rd, 19:32, EN): Braeden Tuck notched an empty netter.
