The Holy Cross men's basketball team will be back in action this weekend when it faces Army West Point in a pair of games. The Crusaders and the Black Knights will meet at West Point on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 3:00 p.m., and then play in Worcester on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 3:00 p.m. Both contests will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+.
Prior to tip-off on Sunday, Holy Cross will honor the members of the program's senior class in a special pregame ceremony.
Holy Cross enters the week with an overall record of 3-10 on the season. The Crusaders just played Boston University three times in five days from Feb. 13-17, posting a 1-2 record in those contests. Junior forward
Gerrale Gates has led the team by averaging 17.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per game this year, while hitting 74.3 percent of his free throws. Senior guard
Austin Butler has added 14.2 points, 8.7 boards and 1.4 steals per contest, while senior forward
Matt Faw is chipping in with 10.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocked shots per game.
Army owns an overall record of 9-6 on the season with a 5-5 mark in Patriot League play. The Black Knights have dropped three of their last four games, including a pair of losses against Colgate last weekend. Senior guard Lonnie Grayson has led Army by averaging 14.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game, while hitting 38.5 percent of his shots from three-point range. Junior guard Josh Caldwell has put up 12.1 points, 4.7 boards and 2.2 steals per contest, with senior forward Alex King contributing 11.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
After the series with the Black Knights, Holy Cross will play a single game at Boston University on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
