The Holy Cross men's basketball team will be back at home on Wednesday, Feb. 17, when it plays host to Boston University at 5:00 p.m. The contest between the Crusaders and the Terriers will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+.
Wednesday's match-up will be the third straight game between Holy Cross and Boston University, and the fifth overall meeting between the schools this season. This marks the first time the Crusaders have ever faced the same opponent in three straight games, and the first time they have ever faced an opponent five times in a single season.
Holy Cross stands 3-9 overall this season, after splitting a pair of games with the Terriers last weekend. Junior forward
Gerrale Gates has led the team by averaging 18.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest this year, while hitting 75.8 percent of his free throws. Senior guard
Austin Butler has added 13.8 points, 8.5 boards and 1.2 steals per contest, while senior forward
Matt Faw is chipping in with 10.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots per game.
Boston University enters the game with an overall mark of 4-6 on the season. Senior guard Javante McCoy has led the Terriers by averaging 17.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, while hitting 5.4 percent of his foul shots. Junior forward Walter Whyte has put up 14.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest, with senior forward Sukhmail Mathon contributing 11.0 points and 7.5 boards per game.
Following the Boston University game, the Crusaders will play a pair of contests with Army West Point on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 20 and 21.
