STORRS, Conn. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team fell to the University of Connecticut 1-0 Friday evening at the Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum.
Jada Brenon made 38 saves on the night, but it wasn't quite enough as the Huskies would score the game's only goal. With 14 minutes to play in the contest, UConn won a faceoff in its offensive zone and Danika Pasqua got off a quick shot which turned out to be the only of the night that would find the back of the net.
The Crusaders had chances, including a couple instances where
Darci Johal fed a good looking pass across the crease, but no one was able to finish on the other end. On the night, Johal and
Sommer Ross led the team with three shots each.
Holy Cross has historically played UConn close. This is the third-straight year in which the Crusaders and Huskies have battled it out in a one-goal game.
