The Holy Cross men's basketball team will return to the court this weekend with a pair of games against Boston University. The Crusaders and the Terriers will meet in Worcester on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 2:00 p.m., and then play in Boston on Sunday, Feb. 14, at 5:00 p.m. Both contests will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+.
The Crusaders stand 2-8 overall this year and have not played since Jan. 31 after having last weekend's series with Army West Point postponed. Junior forward
Gerrale Gates has been on fire, scoring over 20 points in four of his last five games, including a career-high 27 points against Lehigh on Jan. 24. Overall this year, he leads the team by averaging 18.7 points and 7.9 rebounds per contest, while hitting 74.1 percent of his free throws. Senior guard
Austin Butler has added 13.3 points, a Patriot League-best 8.9 boards and 1.2 steals per contest, while senior forward
Matt Faw is chipping in with 11.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocked shots per game.
Boston University enters the week with an overall mark of 3-5 on the season. The Terriers have not played a game since Jan. 24, when they defeated Lafayette 64-61. Senior guard Javante McCoy has led Boston University by averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, while hitting 82.8 percent of his foul shots. Junior forward Walter Whyte has put up 13.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest, with senior forward Sukhmail Mathon contributing 10.9 points and 7.1 boards per game.
Following this weekend's series, Holy Cross and Boston University are scheduled to play a single game in Worcester on Wednesday, Feb. 17.
