Abbie Lane posted a team-high seven kills, but the Holy Cross volleyball team was defeated by Lehigh in three sets at Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall, by scores of 25-23, 25-21 and 25-15. The Crusaders fall to 2-25 overall and 1-15 in the Patriot League, while the Mountain Hawks improve to 8-19 on the season and 4-12 in the conference.
The first set was close most of the way, and Holy Cross held a 22-20 in the late stages. But Lehigh came back to win five of the last six points to take the set 25-23. The Mountain Hawks opened set number two with a 19-10 lead, before the Crusaders won 11 of the next 15 points to trim the margin to two (23-21). Lehigh responded by winning the final two points to take the set. The Mountain Hawks then opened the third set with an early 13-3 lead and were in front by at least eight points the rest of the way to earn the victory.

Skye Daval-Santos finished the match with a team-high 16 digs, while junior
Halle Carter recorded 20 assists. Lehigh was led by Ava Hudson with 11 kills
The 2021 season is now complete for the Crusaders.Â
