The Holy Cross men's basketball team returns to action on Friday, Nov. 12, when it travels to Boston College a regional round game of the Sunshine Slam at 7:00 p.m. The will be the 113th all-time meeting between the old rivals, but the first time they have played since 2012. The contest between the Crusaders and the Pride will be shown live by ACC Network Extra and ESPN+.
The Crusaders stand 1-0 so far this year and are coming off a 98-51 victory over Regis in their season opener. Sophomore guard
Judson Martindale led Holy Cross with a career-high 24 points against the Pride, while hitting nine of 16 field goal attempts and five of nine three-pointers. Sophomore guard
Bo Montgomery added a career-high 19 points, three rebounds and three steals, while freshman forward
Austin Lewis came of the bench to post a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Now in their third year under head coach
Brett Nelson, and the Crusaders are coming off an abbreviated 2020-2021 season in which they played only Patriot League foes and went 5-11 overall.Â
Boston College has a 1-0 overall record this season after defeating Dartmouth 73-57 in its opener on Tuesday night. Sophomore guard DeMarr Langford led the Eagles with 16 points on eight of 10 shooting from the floor against the Big Green. Junior forward Quinten Post (14 points), freshman guard Kanye Jones (12 points) and senior guard Makai Ashton-Langford (10 points) also scored in double figures against Dartmouth. Boston College, which went 4-16 overall and 2-11 in the Atlantic Coast Conference last year, is in its first season under new head coach Earl Grant.
After the contest with the Eagles, Holy Cross will travel to Quinnipiac for a 7:00 p.m. game on Monday, Nov. 15.
