WORCESTER, Mass.— The Holy Cross volleyball team dropped to Army West Point, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon in Blaney Gymnasium.
Sophomore
Sanaea Simmons led all players with five blocks and junior
Halle Carter was close to a double-double for Holy Cross (2-22, 1-12 PL) with 13 assists and eight digs. Junior
Gracyn Benck had six kills to lead all Crusaders and hit. 400 on the match.
Army (16-6, 10-3 PL) was led by Allanah Cutler with 12 kills and Diana Ethridge with 34 assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set one looked to be headed to the Crusaders as they took a 12-8 lead and then led 20-19 later in the set. Army then closed out the set on a six-point run to win, 25-20.
- The second set was back-and-forth in the early going but the Black Knights closed out the set taking home eight of the final nine points to win 25-14. Army then closed out the match with a 25-14 win in set three.
BEYOND THE BOX:
- Simmons' five blocks are a season-high.
- Senior Johnna Shamley appeared in her second match this season and tallied a season-high five kills.

The Crusaders will host Loyola (Md.) for Senior Day on Friday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.
