WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (1-4-1, 1-2-1 AHA):
- Holy Cross picked up its first win this season with a 3-2 victory over Bentley on Saturday. The game doubled as head coach Bill Riga's first career win as a head coach and freshman Thomas Gale's first victory in goal. Riga will return to Quinnipiac after serving on the Bobcats' staff for 13 years.
- Junior Jackson MacNab picked up the first goal of his career against Bentley, which also counted as the eventual game-winner for the Crusaders.
- Sophomore Tyler Ghirardosi is tied to lead the league and sits tied for fifth nationally with three power play goals. All three of Ghirardosi's goals have come on the power play and he is tied to lead the Crusaders with five points.
- Senior Ryan Leibold has tallied a team-high five points (tied with Ghirardosi), off one goal and four assists.
- In goal, Gale and junior Matt Radomsky have played the majority of the minutes for the Crusaders. Gale owns a .922 save percentage, while Radomsky has a .875 save percentage on the season.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS (3-1-1, 0-0-0 ECAC):
- Quinnipiac most recently split a two-game series with then-No. 6 North Dakota. The Bobcats took game one, 5-2, but fell in game two, 3-1.
- The Bobcats have given up just seven goals in five games, the fourth-best mark in the nation.
- Michael Lombardi leads the Bobcats with five points off of two goals and three assists.
- The Crusaders and Bobcats each played in the Ice Breaker Tournament, hosted by Holy Cross earlier this season at the DCU Center, but the two teams did not face one another. Quinnipiac took second place in the tournament and TJ Friedmann was named the tournament MVP. Additionally, Skyler Brind'Amour and Yaniv Perets made the All-Tournament team.
LAST TIME THEY MET:
- Holy Cross and then-No. 16 Quinnipiac last met in the 2020-21 season for a home-and-home series. The Bobcats took both games by scores of 6-1 and 3-0.
- The last Crusader win in the series came on Feb. 12, 2005 by a score of 5-2.
