WORCESTER, Mass.— Sophomore
Sarah Potter tallied two goals to power the Holy Cross field hockey team to a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Villanova on Saturday afternoon.
Villanova (6-10, 1-4 Big East) took a 1-0 lead just 3:46 into the game and then doubled its score just over a minute into the third quarter.
Sarah Potter would respond for Holy Cross (6-8, 1-4 PL) with her first goal of the day to make the score 2-1 at the end of the third quarter. Junior
Rachel Perry tallied her second assist of the season on the goal.
In the fourth quarter, Potter notched her second goal of the day to tie the game up at 2-2, with a helper from senior
Keely Smith. Junior
Isabella Henderson then scored the first game-winning goal of her career under a minute after Potter's second goal of the day, to push the final score to 3-2.
Sophomore
Brooke Ross made eight saves on the day.
