LOWELL, Mass.— The Holy Cross field hockey team dropped to UMass Lowell, 3-0, on Monday afternoon at Wicked Blue Field.
Berbel Rozema posted a hat trick for the River Hawks (7-4, 1-3 AE), scoring all three goals in the first half. Holy Cross (5-7, 1-3 PL) managed to hold Lowell scoreless through the second half, but the Crusaders were unable to mount a comeback.
Junior
Sinead Walsh led the Crusaders with two shots on the day. In goal, junior
Emma Lauber made eight saves in 45 minutes of action, while sophomore
Brooke Ross came on in the fourth quarter and made one save. Ross' lone save of the day came in the final minute of action as she denied a Lowell player on the breakaway to maintain the score at 3-0.

The Crusaders will travel to No. 23 American on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 11 a.m. The Eagles currently sit at first overall in the Patriot League standings and are 4-0 in league play.
