Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Men's hockey comes up short at Bentley

WALTHAM, Mass. – Freshman Alec Cicero scored his first collegiate goal, but the Holy Cross men's hockey team lost to Bentley 5-2 Tuesday evening at the Bentley Arena.

The Falcon's Jakov Novak scored two first period goals within one minute and 18 seconds of each other to open the game. The sides would go into the first break with Bentley up two. Four and a half minutes into the second the Falcons added a third strike to increase their lead.

At the 10:34 mark of the second, the Crusaders would convert on the power play when Jack Ricketts sent in a shot on goal that was deflected out to Cicero who was able to backhand it home. Nick Hale also assisted on the play.

Bentley would respond in the final frame by tacking on two more to make it 5-1, before the Crusaders added a second goal late. Ryan Leibold won a faceoff straight back to Alex Peterson who fired two shots on goal, the second of which found the back of the net. Peterson's fourth goal of the season was the final of the game.
