Women’s lacrosse tops Merrimack, 14-6

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's lacrosse team downed Merrimack, 14-6, in the team's first-ever meeting. Catherine Guanci led the Crusaders with four points from three goals and one assist. Grace Flink and Juliana Kubler combined for nine saves.
 
The Crusaders opened the game with four-consecutive goals to open the game, as Izzy Grant, Bryn Carroll, Kara McDuffee, and Jolie Creo scored, 4-1.
 
Merrimack responded at 23:45, but Holy Cross outscored the Warriors 4-2 through the remainder of the half. Guanci picked up two-consecutive goals to push Holy Cross ahead, 6-1, while Creo and McDuffee doubled up their goals to take an 8-3 lead.
 
The Crusaders and Warriors traded goals to start the second half. Holy Cross rattled off five goals from 24:52 to 10:25 of the half, 14-4.
 
In the final eight minutes, Merrimack scored twice to finalize the game at 14-6.
