Women's hockey hosts No. 8 Boston University

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's hockey team will play a single game this weekend as it hosts No. 8 Boston University Saturday afternoon for a 3:05 p.m. matchup at the Hart Center. The Crusaders will be celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day with a free multi-sports clinic prior to puck drop, as well as a "Skate with the Crusaders" and autograph session after the game. All youth in attendance are encouraged to bring their own skates and helmet in order to participate in the post-game skate.

Talking Points
• The Crusaders came away with their second Hockey East tie of the season this past weekend as they went up to Burlington, Vt. and played to a 2-2 draw with the Catamounts.
• In the game at Vermont, Bailey Bennett scored her first goal with Holy Cross and also recorded her first multi-point game as a Crusader.
• On the weekend as a whole, Carlie Magier led the team with three points, putting up a goal against Vermont and a goal and an assist at Boston College.
• Nine different Crusaders recorded a point over the weekend's two games, including Darci Johal's first collegiate point from an assist against the Eagles.
• At Vermont, Jada Brenon made 51 saves across the three periods and overtime. The sophomore netminder currently has 679 saves in Hockey East games this season, putting her fifth in the conference record books. With five games remaining, she is on pace for 840, which would break the old record of 815 set in the 2004-2005 season by Northeastern's Marisa Hourihan.

• Ten of the Crusaders' previous 15 goals have been scored by defensemen.
Antonia Matzka and Emma Lange lead the way with three each over that stretch, while Kailey Langefels has two and Victoria Young and Allison Attea have each chipped in one.
• On the season, Holy Cross' defensive core has combined for 35.1% of the team's total points.

Top of the Class
• The Crusader freshmen sit atop the team in terms of total points scored, having accounted for 32.4% of the team's offense. The sophomores and seniors follow at 23% each, with the juniors at 21.6%.
• In goals, the sophomores lead with 31% followed by the freshmen at 27.6%, juniors at 24.1%, and seniors at 17.3%.
• In assists, the freshmen lead at 35.6%, then come the seniors at 26.6%, the juniors at 20.0%, and the sophomores at 17.8%.

Scouting the Terriers
• Sammy Davis leads the nation's eighth-ranked team in all three scoring categories with 12 goals, 19 assists, and 31 points. She also has a team-high six power play goals.
• Between the pipes, Corinne Schroeder has a team-best .943 save percentage and 1.50 goals against average. Her save percentage is fifth in the nation and goals against average is sixth.
• On the power play, BU scores 25.2% of the time, while killing 87% of its penalties faced.
