WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's basketball team hits the road this weekend, heading to Boston University for a 1:00 p.m. game on Saturday, Feb. 8. The contest between the Crusaders and the Greyhounds will be shown live on the Patriot League Network, and can be heard on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
Holy Cross stands 3-21 overall this season with a 2-9 mark against Patriot League opponents. The Crusaders have lost their last four games since posting a 96-95 overtime victory over Lehigh on Jan. 22.
Freshman forward
Joe Pridgen has led the team by averaging 16.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, while hitting 55.1 percent of his field goal attempts. Junior guard
Austin Butler has added 12.1 points, 6.4 boards and 2.4 assists per contest, while junior forward
Connor Niego is chipping in with 9.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
Boston University stands 14-10 overall this year with an 8-3 mark in Patriot League play. The Terriers are currently on a four-game winning streak, including an 80-66 victory at Army on Wednesday night.
Senior forward Max Mahoney has led the team by averaging 15.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, while hitting 61.8 percent of his field goal attempts. Sophomore forward Walter Whyte has averaged 12.5 points and 7.0 boards per contest, with junior guard Javante McCoy putting up 11.7 points, 3.5 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game.
Following the contest with Boston University, Holy Cross will head to Lehigh for a 7:00 p.m. game on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
