WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's basketball team will play its final regular season game of the year when it faces American at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29. Prior to tip-off, the lone member of the Crusaders' senior class, guard
Clayton Le Sann, will be honored in a special pregame ceremony. The contest between Holy Cross and American will be shown live on the Patriot League Network, and can be heard on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
The Crusaders stand 3-26 overall this year with a 2-14 mark in the Patriot League. Holy Cross will be the No. 10 seed in the Patriot League Tournament, with its opponent determined by the final round of conference games on Saturday.
Freshman forward
Joe Pridgen has led the team by averaging 17.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, while hitting 56.0 percent of his field goal attempts. Junior guard
Austin Butler has added 12.1 points, 6.4 boards and 2.5 assists per contest, while junior forward
Connor Niego is chipping in with 8.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
American stands 15-13 overall this year with an 11-6 mark in Patriot League play. The Eagles are coming off a 79-59 victory over Lafayette on Wednesday, and will be seeded either second or third in the Patriot League Tournament.
Senior guard Sa'eed Nelson has led the team by averaging 18.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.7 steals per game. Junior guard Jamir Harris has added 10.6 points and 3.2 boards per contest, while junior guard Stacy Beckton is putting up 9.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
