Women's basketball heads to Lafayette

The Holy Cross women's basketball team heads to Easton, Pa. for a Patriot League matchup at Lafayette on Saturday, Feb. 15. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.

Things to Know About the Crusaders (14-9, 7-5 Patriot League):
  • Holy Cross earned a thrilling 65-62 comeback win – and regular-season sweep – over Lehigh on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
  • Trailing by 24 points with 4:37 to go in the third quarter, the Crusaders were able to chip away at the deficit, led by a strong performance from sophomore Avery LaBarbera, who finished with 19 points and five assists.
  • The comeback is tied for the fifth-largest in NCAA Division I history, according to NCAA record books, and is the largest in program and Patriot League history.
  • Senior Lauren Manis had her 15th double-double of the year in the win over Lehigh, recording 18 points and 13 rebounds along with five assists and two blocks. Sophomore Oluchi Ezemma tallied 10 rebounds to go with nine points.
  • The Crusaders, who pulled down 47 rebounds on Wednesday night, continue to lead the Patriot League in boards per game at 40.5.
Things to Know About the Leopards (12-10, 8-4 Patriot League):
  • The Leopards earned a 67-58 victory over Army on Wednesday.
  • Natalie Kucowski led Lafayette with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. Alexis Santarelli chipped in 14 points, while Drew Freeland was also in double figures with 10 points.
  • Kucowski is the nation's leading rebounder, averaging 13.4 boards per game. She and Manis are tied for the fourth-most double-doubles in the nation, with 15.
  • Lafayette boasts the second-best defense in the Patriot League, holding opponents to an average of 57.8 points per game.
  • After posting just eight wins in all of 2018-19, Lafayette has already surpassed that total, with eight wins in the Patriot League alone.
  • The Leopards are 9-2 at home this season.
Last Time They Met:
  • Holy Cross earned a dramatic 57-56 victory over Lafayette at home on Jan. 8.
  • Manis finished with 25 points, 12 rebounds and two steals to lead the Crusaders. LaBarbera was also in double figures with 11 points, while Megan Swords recorded nine points and seven rebounds.
  • Manis converted on an and-one with 8.6 seconds remaining, and with just a few seconds left, Freeland attempted the game-winning shot for Lafayette, but the shot was blocked by Swords to seal the victory.
