Crusaders fall 2-0 at #9 Providence

Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior goalie Jada Brenon made 29 saves, but the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team was defeated by No. 9 Providence 2-0 at Schneider Arena.

The Friars opened the scoring 10:31 into the first period, when Annelise Rice deflected a shot by Brooke Becker into the net. Providence then made the score 2-0 at the 7:04-mark of the second period on a goal by Hunter Barnett. Neither team was able to score the rest of the way, as the Friars held on for a 2-0 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Providence held a 67-41 advantage in total shots, including a 31-16 edge in shots on goal.
  • Holy Cross posted a 26-18 advantage on faceoffs.
  • Junior forward Sommer Ross had a team-best four blocked shots.
