WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's basketball team will play on the road for the fourth time in its last five games, heading to Bucknell for a 2:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, Jan. 11. The game between the Crusaders and the Bison will be shown live on the Patriot League Network, and can be heard on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
Holy Cross stands 2-14 overall this season and is tied for sixth place in the Patriot League with a 1-2 mark in conference games. After defeating Navy 63-61 on Sunday, the Crusaders dropped their last game at Lafayette (82-64) on Wednesday.
Freshman forward
Joe Pridgen has led the team by averaging 16.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, while hitting 56.0 percent of his field goal attempts. Freshman guard
Drew Lowder has added 13.5 points and 3.4 assists per contest, while junior guard
Austin Butler is chipping in with 10.9 points, 7.2 boards and 2.6 assists per game.
Bucknell owns an overall record of 6-10 this year with a 2-1 mark in Patriot League play. After opening conference play with wins over Army West Point (67-65) and Lafayette (78-66), the Bison fell to Navy (60-56) at home on Wednesday night.
Junior guard Jimmy Sotos has led the team by averaging 13.2 points, 4.0 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game, while hitting 87.5 percent of his foul shots. Senior guard Avi Toomer (12.1 points per game), junior forward John Meeks (11.5 points per game) and sophomore guard Andrew Funk (10.4 points per game) are also scoring in double figures for the Bison.
Following the game with Bucknell, Holy Cross will return home to face Army West Point on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 7:00 p.m.
