CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team lost to Boston College, 8-3, Friday evening at the Conte Forum.
The Eagles led by seven after two periods of play, but the Crusaders came storming back late, scoring three goals in the final frame, but the deficit was too large to overcome. The three tallies are the most Holy Cross has ever scored against Boston College, with the previous high of one happening twice over the last two seasons.
Kailey Langefels scored the Crusaders' first goal from the point after a couple nice passes from
Rachel Moore and
Darci Johal. Carlie Magier followed it up with her own later in the period off a rebound on the power play.
Antonia Matzka and
Mary Edmonds had the assists. Finally,
Emma Lange scored Holy Cross' third goal of the game and her third of the year to cap things off. Magier was involved again, this time with the assist.
This was the first time in program history the Crusaders have faced Boston College while the Eagles were not ranked within the nation's top 10.
