STORRS, Conn. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team fell to UConn, 2-1, Friday afternoon at Freitas Ice Forum.
The first goal of freshman
Paige McArthur's collegiate career gave the Crusaders the lead at just the 2:42 mark of the first period.
Carlie Magier picked up the assist on the play. The Huskies would score one goal in each of the ensuing periods to first tie it up and then claim the victory.
Jada Brenon made 39 saves in goal for Holy Cross.
SCORING SUMMARY:

st, 2:42, EV): Magier intercepted a pass and managed two shots on goal before McArthur got the rebound of the second and fit the puck through a tight window for the game's first tally.
1-1 CONN (2
nd, 2:18, EV): UConn's Coryn Tormala knotted the game at one.
2-1 CONN (3
rd, 1:28, EV): Another goal within the first three minutes of the period, this one at 1:28 off the stick of Catherine Crawley, gave the Huskies a lead they would hold on to for the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- McArthur's goal gives her seven points on the season, good for second on the team.
- This was the eighth game this season in which Brenon made at least 35 saves.
