Box Score BOSTON – The Holy Cross women's hockey team lost to No. 8 Boston University, 4-1, Friday evening at Walter Brown Arena.

The Terriers put 17 shots on goal in the first period, but Jada Brenon and the Holy Cross defense were up to the task, stopping 16 of them.

With the 1-0 lead entering the second, BU would add a second score before Victoria Young got her first of the year to close the gap to one. The Terriers added two more before the second period was over.

The third and final frame was a quiet one with neither side able to add another tally. Brenon finished the game with 40 saves.

SCORING SUMMARY:
1-0 BU (1^st, 11:28, EV): After a turnover behind Holy Cross' net, Courtney Correia fired a pass to Mackenna Parker who connected on a one-timer from the slot.
2-0 BU (2^nd, 10:31, EV): Deziray De Sousa doubled BU's lead halfway through the second.
2-1 HC (2^nd, 11:03, EV): Young quickly cut that lead in half when she beat Corinne Schroeder over her glove side straight from the boards.
3-1 BU (2^nd, 11:55, EV): The Terriers answered quickly with their third of the night.
4-1 BU (2^nd, 14:22, EV): The home team would add one more in the second frame, De Sousa's second of the game.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Tonight was the second game in a row in which Brenon stopped 40 shots after doing so last Saturday in the team's scoreless tie at Maine.
• Young's goal was the ninth of her collegiate career.
• The Crusaders were perfect on the kill, going two-for-two. They are now 20-for-21 while playing down a man in their last eight games for a 95.2% success rate over that time.
