WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's basketball team returns home this week to face Army West Point on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 7:00 p.m. The game between the Crusaders and the Black Knights will be shown live on the Patriot League Network, and can be heard on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
Holy Cross stands 2-15 overall this season and is tied for eighth place in the Patriot League with a 1-3 mark in conference games. After defeating Navy 63-61 on Jan. 5, the Crusaders dropped their last two games at Lafayette (82-64) and Bucknell (75-60).
Freshman forward
Joe Pridgen has led the team by averaging 15.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while hitting 55.8 percent of his field goal attempts. Freshman guard
Drew Lowder has added 14.1 points and 3.3 assists per contest, while junior guard
Austin Butler is chipping in with 11.2 points, 6.9 boards and 2.5 assists per game.
Army stands 5-10 overall this year with an 0-4 mark in Patriot League play. The Black Knights have lost five straight games, and are coming off an 81-59 setback at Boston University on Saturday.
Senior guard Tommy Funk has led the team by averaging 14.2 points, 6.2 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game. Senior center Matt Wilson has added 13.8 points and 8.2 boards per contest, and junior guard Lonnie Grayson is putting up 11.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
Following the contest with Army, Holy Cross will head to American for a 4:00 p.m. game on Saturday, Jan. 18.
