WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior quarterback
Connor Degenhardt and sophomore tailback
Peter Oliver have been selected to the 2019 Academic All-Patriot League football team, as announced by the conference office. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, and be a starter or key reserve.
Degenhardt was previously named second team All-Patriot League and was selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I team. He has started all 12 games for the Crusaders at quarterback this season, completing 180 of 334 passes for 2,361 yards and 14 touchdowns. Degenhardt has also carried the ball 84 times for 61 yards and five scores, and has 2,422 yards of total offense. He currently ranks third in the Patriot League in total offense, while standing fourth in passing yards and pass efficiency (123.5 rating). In the classroom, Degenhardt carries a cumulative grade point average of 3.55 with a major in Psychology.
Oliver, who was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I team, has appeared in all 12 of Holy Cross' games at tailback this year, rushing the ball 101 times for 394 yards and four touchdowns. He currently ranks second on the team in rushing yards and is tied for fourth in touchdowns scored. Over the course of his collegiate career, Oliver has carried the ball 163 times for 630 yards and six scores. In the classroom, he owns a cumulative grade point average of 3.93 with a major in double major in Chemistry and Spanish.
Holy Cross stands 7-5 overall this season, and won the Patriot League championship with a 5-1 mark in conference games. The Crusaders will play at No. 14 Monmouth on Saturday, Nov. 30, in the first round of the NCAA football championship subdivision playoffs.
