WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior quarterback Connor Degenhardt and sophomore running back Peter Oliver, members of the Holy Cross football team, have been selected to the 2019 College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District I squad. The team is comprised of players from Division I schools in the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Degenhardt has started all 10 games for the Crusaders at quarterback this season, completing 155 of 291 passes for 2,023 yards and 13 touchdowns. He has also carried the ball 71 times for 51 yards and three scores, and has 2,074 yards of total offense. Degenhardt currently ranks second in the Patriot league in total offense and fourth in passing yards. In the classroom, he carries a cumulative grade point average of 3.55 with a major in Psychology.
Oliver has appeared in all 10 of Holy Cross' games at tailback this year, rushing the ball 92 times for 328 yards and three touchdowns. He currently ranks second on the team in rushing yards and is tied for third in touchdowns scored. Over the course of his collegiate career, Oliver has carried the ball 154 times for 564 yards and five scores. In the classroom, he owns a cumulative grade point average of 3.93 with a major in double major in Chemistry and Spanish.
By earning Academic All-District honors, Degenhardt and Oliver will now be on the ballot for Academic All-America honors. The Academic All-America team will be announced on Dec. 9.
Holy Cross (5-5 overall, 3-1 Patriot League) returns to action this Saturday, Nov. 16, when it travels to Fordham for a 1:00 p.m. game.
