CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team fell to No. 7 Boston College, 5-1, Friday afternoon at Kelley Rink in Conte Forum.
The Eagles scored two quick goals in the first period, but then the Crusaders tightened up on defense and didn't allow another for the remainder of the frame. After the second goal, Holy Cross outshot Boston College 6-4 for the rest of the period.
The Eagles added another two in the second, but not before
Sommer Ross scored her second of the year.
Rachel Moore picked up her team-leading fourth assist on the play, while
Hannah Gillis got her first. Boston College added one more goal in the final period to wrap things up.
A bright spot on the day was the Crusaders going a perfect 5-for-5 on the penalty kill, including a 5-on-3 opportunity for the Eagles in the third period.
Jada Brenon made 39 saves.

st, 4:41, EV): Hannah Bilka followed shortly after with her eighth of the season.

nd, 9:18, EV): The Eagles struck first in the second period as well.
3-1 BC (2
nd, 9:45, EV): Ross put the Crusaders on the board when she sent in a low shot from just above the right circle and it skipped past BC's McArthur.
4-1 BC (2
nd, 12:06, EV): Savannah Norcross got in behind Brenon to corral a loose puck and push it home.
5-1 BC (3
rd, 5:51, EV): The fifth different Eagle recorded a goal as Willow Corson increased the lead to four.
