PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Holy Cross men's soccer captured the program's first-ever win over Brown with a 1-0 victory in overtime.
Rory Birse netted his second career goal in the 94
th minute to take down the Bears.
Brown held an 8-5 shot advantage in the first half while
Nick Conklu recorded his first collegiate start. The junior made two saves in the opening half.
Conklu and the Crusaders' defense held strong in the second half, with three saves. Holy Cross' offense tallied three shots on goal of their own.
Each team recorded one shot on goal in the overtime period before Birse turned on a ball in the box and fired off a quick low shot to the far post for the win.
