WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team lost to the University of Connecticut, 2-0, Saturday night at the Hart Center.

The Crusaders and Huskies were scoreless through the first period, in which Holy Cross held in the advantage in shots, 7-4. But UConn would score twice in the second to take the lead. The Crusaders would put 12 shots on goal in the final from, but it wasn't enough to get back in it.

Rachel Moore and Katie MacCuaig led Holy Cross with four shots each. Jada Brenon made 35 saves in goal. Freshman Kailey Langefels had a game-high four blocked shots.

SCORING SUMMARY:

1. UConn (2^nd, 6:34, PP): Viki Harkness fired a shot in at Brenon and Savannah Bouzide was there for the rebound.
2. UConn (2^nd, 17:58, EV): Morgan Wabick stuffed one in between Brenon's pad and the pipe.

UP NEXT:

The Crusaders will travel to Canton, N.Y. next weekend to take on St. Lawrence in a two-game series.
