SHELTON, Conn. - The Holy Cross women's hockey team lost 3-1 to the Sacred Pioneers on Friday, Jan. 26. Junior Julie Matthias led the Crusaders with the lone goal from senior Kara Violette.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
1-0 HC (1st, 2:31): Matthias scored for the Crusaders in the opening minutes of the first period from Violette.
1-1 SH (2nd, 5:21): Sacred Heart's Jayne Lewis scored for the Pioneers to tie the game in the second period.
1-2 SH (2nd, 8:30): The Pioneers' Maddie Bishop netted the eventual game-winner for Sacred Heart.
1-3 SH (2nd, 11:42): Lewis recorder her second goal of the game to give the Pioneers the 3-1 lead and win.
