WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team defeated the Saint Anselm Hawks, 1-0, at the Hart Center Saturday afternoon. Senior Kara Violette led the Crusaders with the only goal of the game. Juniors Sam Girard and Julie Matthias assisted on the goal. The Crusaders ended the Hawks' 21-road game winning streak with the 1-0 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1-0 HC (2nd, 17:40, PP): Senior Kara Violette scored her sixth goal of the season from a rebounded shot by junior Sam Girard.
TALKING POINTS
- There were six penalties between the Crusaders and the Hawks.
- Holy Cross went 1-2 on the power play and Saint Anselm went 0-4.
