WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior pitcher Sean Gustin (Stoneham, Mass.) has been named Academic All-Patriot League, as announced by the league on Wednesday. In order to be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. This is the third straight year Gustin has been named to the team.
Gustin is an Economics major who has maintained a grade-point average of 3.39. This season he has made 22 appearances on the mound, holding an ERA of 3.91 through 25.1 innings pitched. He holds a record of 2-2 on the season, and has tallied 27 strikeouts.
Gustin has also notched eight saves this season, which are tied for the third-most all-time in program history. He also holds a total of 14 saves in his career, ranking him second all-time.
Holy Cross finished the regular season with a 27-24 overall record, and a 14-6 mark in the Patriot League. They will host Lehigh in the Patriot League Semifinals in a best-of-three series at Hanover Insurance Park this weekend, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1:05 p.m.
