Cullen Hamilton Receives Richard J. Maloney Award

WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior guard Cullen Hamilton, a member of the Holy Cross men's basketball team, is the 2015-2016 recipient of the Richard J. Maloney Award. Since 1981, the Maloney Award has been presented annually by the Holy Cross Varsity Club to the men's basketball player who best exemplifies Mr. Maloney's spirit and energy as a loyal contributor to the program.

In 33 games played this year, Hamilton has averaged 8.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest, while hitting 77.6 percent (52 of 67) of his free throws. He scored a season-high 24 points on nine-of-13 shooting from the field against Navy on Jan. 30, while netting 20 points on seven-of-nine shooting against Colgate on Jan. 6. Hamilton also tied the school single-season records with 35 games played and 35 games started this year.

A Patriot League All-Rookie selection in 2012-2013, Hamilton totaled 827 points, 270 rebounds, 125 assists and 56 steals in 113 career games played, while making 76.6 percent of his free throws (128 of 167).
