• The Lead: Sophomore Joe Blando and freshman Jake Peer finished in a tie for 16th place as individuals, as the Holy Cross men's golf team came in seventh out of nine schools in the Rhode Island Invitational at the Quidnesset Country Club in North Kingstown, R.I.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Blando and Peer both totaled 225 strokes over three rounds, to finish at nine-over-par.
• Freshman Joe Egan also played well, placing 25th with a total of 228 strokes.
• Junior Connor McGuirk and sophomore Roger Larrivee finished in a tie for 56th place, with scores of 246.
• Bryant won the team title with a three-round total of 872 strokes, while Holy Cross totaled 917 strokes.
• Billy Walthouse of Rhode Island was the individual medalist, finishing at five-under-par (211 strokes).
