• The Lead: Freshman forward Jehyve Floyd scored a career-high 10 points on five of five shooting from the field, but the Holy Cross men's basketball team was defeated by Loyola (Md.) 78-63 at Reitz Arena.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Freshman forward Karl Charles totaled 15 points, five rebounds and three assists in the game, while senior guard Cullen Hamilton added 13 points.
• The Crusaders made just 41.5 percent of their field goal attempts (22 of 53) and 23.5 percent of their three-pointers (four of 17) on the night.
• The Greyhounds were able to connect on 48.1 percent of their shots from the floor (26 of 54) and 40.9 percent from beyond the arc (nine of 22), in addition to holding a 40-24 rebounding advantage.
• Loyola was led by Andre Walker with 15 points, six assists and four rebounds.

 HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Holy Cross opened the game by jumping out to an early 9-5 lead after the first 3:19 of play.
• The score would remain close for the next several minutes, and was later tied at 17-17 with 8:43 left in the first half.
• The Greyhounds scored the next eight points to pull in front, and eventually took a 10-point lead into the locker room (33-23).
• Loyola continued to play well early in the second half, using a 15-5 run to pull in front by 20 (48-28) with 14:42 remaining.
• The Greyhounds were still up by 19 (66-47) with 7:03 left to play, when the Crusaders used a 9-0 spurt to close the margin to 10 points (66-56).
• But Loyola responded by scoring the next six points to regain control, and eventually posted a 15-point victory.
