• The Lead: The Crusaders began competition at the Patriot League Championship with the women's pentathlon at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Freshman Lauren Rasmus (Atlanta, Ga.) placed third in the   800 m run with a time of 2:25.36, while junior Alexa Eldracher (Woodbridge, Conn.) placed seventh at 2:35.06.
• In the 60 m hurdles, Rasmus placed fifth with a time of 9.55 as Eldracher came in seventh at 9.74.
• Rasmus earned a fourth-place finish in the high jump, setting a mark of 1.57 m. Junior Jennifer Kimball (South Weymouth, Mass.) placed sixth at 1.54 m, and Eldracher came in sixth with the same final mark.
• Eldracher earned a third-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.32 m, while Rasmus placed sixth at 5.05 m, and Kimball came in eighth at 4.78 m.
• In the shot put, Eldracher set a mark of 9.58 to place eighth overall, while Kimball placed ninth at 8.98 m and Rasmus came in 12th at 7.95 m.
• In the final standings, Rasmus came in fifth place with a score of 3220, as Eldracher finished the pentathlon with 3208 points to place sixth. Both student-athletes earned a total of seven points for the Crusaders in the Patriot League Championship standings.
